view is a temple to Golla, a demi god for the hill people, who is famous for dispensing justice. Lord Golla one of the bravest generals of Chand Kings followed the martial tradition of the hill men and died like a true warrior in action. To commemorate his intrepidity and to remind the hill men of their martial traditions, Lord Golla is worshipped as a demi god and is the most popular deity of the Kumaonis. People appeal to him on a latter for meting out justice and when their wish is fulfilled they offer a brass bell. The hundreds of comer bear testimony to the faith of the people. The presiding deity is virtually laden with bells.
