Yamunotri the source of Yamuna River, is situated at a hieght of 3293 mts in Uttarkashi district of
Uttarakhand. The
main sorce of Yamuna River is Yamunotri Glacier at a height of 6,387 mtrs. Located at a height of 3235min the western region of Garhwal Himalayas. From Hanuman Chatti it is a trek for about thirteen kilometre and six kilometres from Janki Chatti.
One can also take a horse or Palanquins for rent. The trekking routes from Hanuman Chatti to Yamunotri are, one via Markendeya Tirtha and the other route is Viakharsali, from where its a five to six hours climb. The Yamunotri temple for the devotees is from 6am to 8pm. Aarti timings are from 6:30am to 8pm. The temple is open for the visitors from Akshay Tritiya (may) and closes on Yama Dwitiya (the second day after Diwali, November).

- Temple Of Goddess Yamuna :
Built by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur in the 19th century. The temple remains closed from November to May.
- Lakhamandal :
Near Kempti fall 75 kms, on the Mussoorie-Yamnotri road is the Lakhamandal. It was
considered as the shelter house of Kauravas, and conspired to burn the Pandavas alive here.
- Surya Kund :
A thermal spring known for very high temperature of 190 f. Rice and Potatoes are cooked
here to offer to deity.
- Jankichatti :
It is a thermal spring which is panoramic site and pilgrims take a refreshing bath at this place.
